The Jericho Deception by Jeffrey Small

The Jericho Deception Reviewed by Jud Hanson

Religion is perhaps the most powerful force in the world. It has been the driving force for countless wars, millions of deaths and the mantra for countless political campaigns throughout the world. No place on Earth has remained untouched by Religion. Now Dr. Ethan Lightman believes he has discovered a way to provide the ultimate religious experience: seeing God up close and personal. However, Lightman and his graduate assistant find themselves at the center of a top secret project when his mentor is brutally murdered and they are both abducted and taken to the operating base for Project Jericho, which seeks to “rehabilitate” captured terrorist suspects with Lightman’s Logos machine. The CIA wants to literally “convert” these subjects to Christianity. Lightman is appalled at how his research is being misused and decides he must stop this project before a holy war is started. Can he succeed before the CIA carries out their plan worldwide?

The Jericho Deception by Jeffrey Small is a fascinating look at the influence religion has over humanity. Small has taken a deeply divisive subject and weaved a fascinating novel that is well-written and compelling. I look forward to re ding future Small novels and gladly give this one 4/5 stars.
