The Sweet By and By by Sara Evans and Rachel Hauck

sweetReviewed by Nancy Eaton

Jade has not had an easy childhood and this is something that has stayed with her throughout the years. She will soon be married to Max and the big question in her mind is should she invite her mother to the wedding.

Jade’s hippie parents were divorced when she was very young. There are some things that haunt her about all of this and she just cannot seem to forgive her mother for everything that has happened. She desperately wants to forget about her past but realizes she must deal with it first before she can get married. Jade has not even told her fiancée everything about her past.

When Jade’s mother and sister arrive three weeks early for the wedding, many things start to change.

Will Jade be able to come to terms with her past?

The Sweet By and By is a compelling read filled with complex characters with each one having their own flaws. The characters are very realistic and the descriptive writing made the reader feel like they were right in the middle of the story. One might call this a chic lit book; however, there is a much deeper meaning to this story – one of coming to term with forgiveness. The Sweet By and By is a heartwarming story by Sara Evans and Rachel Hauck and one that will pull at your heartstrings!
