Mom is the narrator of this book. She begins by checking on John who went to bed with his shoes on. John was exhausted because of everything he did today.
Next, Mom checks on her daughter, Bess, who is also asleep. It seems Bess had a very busy day too!
Mom then looks in on the dog, Zack and the pig, Lynn. It seems that everyone is asleep including the pony, Paul.
Mom then checks on her husband, Lee. Guess what Lee was doing? You are right - he was asleep also.
This is a wonderful bedtime story book to read to a child. It ends with Mom saying "Shouldn't you be already asleep?"
The writer has done an excellent job of telling the story of what each person has done for the day in a very short and concise book. The illustrator, Julie Olson, adds so much to each page with her artistic skills. As a special treat, she has added a grey tabby cat and a white mouse in every scene of the book that makes it fun for children to try and locate them.
If you are looking for a good bedtime story to read to your children, this is one that will not disappoint you or them.
