BOOK REVIEW: ARIZONA DREAMS
When Dana Underwood knocked on the door of David Mapstone's office and declared herself a former student of his, Mapstone could not even begin to imagine what trouble she would be getting him into. Mapstone is a former history professor turned deputy sheriff currently working for Sheriff Mike Peralta. David's wife Lindsey is also a deputy in the Sheriff's office. David is currently working cold cases and writing a book at the request of Sheriff Peralta.
Dana presents David with a deathbed confession from her father stating that he had killed a man who he referred to only as "Z" back in 1966. She even gives him the location of the body.
When David finally makes a decision to investigate he finds that there is a body at the location he is given but the body has only been buried for a short period time. The identity of the body is discovered but Dana is nowhere to found. A short while later the brother of the man buried at the location in Dana's letter is also found murdered at a gambling casino. The weapon is an ice pick. This murder ties in with a murder in David's own neighborhood just prior to Dana making an appearance at his office.
Robin, Lindsey's half- sister, suddenly puts in an appearance. Since David didn't even know that Lindsey had a sister this was yet another shocker.
How are all of these incidents tied together? And why does the development Arizona Dreams keep coming into play? Read along while Mapstone investigates and eventually uncovers the whole story. A book that is a very enjoyable read.
