Ryan McIntyre is having some trouble in the Boston public school system he attends. He would get beaten up almost daily. His father was recently killed in the military service. It has been suggested that Ryan be sent to St. Ignatius Catholic School because it has a good reputation for being able to deal with troubled teens.

Once at St. Ignatius, Ryan is almost wishing he could be back at the school where he would get beaten up. One student has disappeared and another was involved in an incident where he attacked a woman and was killed by the police.

Father Sabastian is new to St. Ignatius. He is an exorcist who has been assigned to do tests of exorcism on some of the troubled teens. The results end up being very effective and draw the attention of the Vatican. Ryan is selected to help Father Sabastian with his work. Ryan soon discovers that the church is not fully aware of what Father Sabastian is up to and this means that he and his friends are in danger.

Is it too late for Ryan? What happens to him?

The Devil‘s Labyrinth is a chilling thriller that will keep right on going with suspense building page by page. This book starts out a little slow but keep on reading it and you will not be disappointed. John Saul does a tremendous job with the characters placing each of them in roles that are a perfect match with the character. I can just picture this one ending up as a movie. John Saul fans will not be disappointed with “The Devil’s Labyrinth”. Be sure to add this one to your reading list.
