BOOK REVIEW: PURSUIT
Jonas has just started undergoing treatment with Dr. Nesse. Dr. Nesse thought something was strange because he would look out the window of his office and see Jonas sitting on a bench. Jonas really wasn't hiding but didn't seem to care if Dr. Nesse noticed him. It was almost like Jonas was "watching" him. Jonas also visited the doctor's house. His daughter, Leticia, informed her father that the man asked if Dr. Nesse was home. She said he looked a little "lost". The doctor informed his family that this man is one of his patients and if he comes back not to let him in the house.
Dr. Nesse was really starting to feel like he was being stalked by Jonas and he did not like it. Then the unimaginable happened. His daughter disappeared.
Dr. Arthur Nesse calls Chief Inspector Espinosa asking him to help because he believes Jonas or, as he liked to be called "Isidoro", kidnapped his daughter . Espinosa agreed to help.
Chief Espinosa begins to investigate and he finds some interesting facts. Now he begins to wonder is the problem with Jonas or is it Dr. Nesse who is imagining Jonas is stalking him.
Jonas turns up dead. Then other murders begin to occur. The interesting thing is the murders all have some kind of link to Dr. Nesse and Jonas.
Is Dr. Nesse the murderer?
Luiz Alfredo Garcia-Roza has written an excellent police procedural novel. This is the fifth book in the series. With each novel the author takes us on an intriguing journey in order to solve the mystery. This novel is a perfect blend of suspense and eeriness. If you haven't read any of the other four books in this series, you will also want to go back and read them. This book is highly recommended.
