BOOK REVIEW: STRANGERS IN DEATH
Is this a case of some strange sex escapades gone wrong or is it murder?
Thomas Anders, a prominent businessman, is found dead in his own bed. Not only was he dead but he was also in a very compromising position. What kind of games was Mr. Anders playing? His wife was out of town when this all happened. It sure seemed like Mr. Anders had another lifestyle that his wife did not know about.
Mrs. Anders returned home upon being notified of her husband's death and appeared extremely upset. As Lt. Eve Dallas begins her investigation, she seems to have Mrs. Anders at the top of her prime suspect list. She also questioned Mr. Anders’ nephew. The only problem is that both of them have sound alibis.
The investigation also reveals that Mr. Anders did not struggle and the security breach at the apartment indicates that the killer was someone close to the victim.
Is Lt. Dallas successful at solving this case?
This is only the second J.D. Robb book I have read. Don’t ask me why because they are so intriguing. I now promise myself to go back and read many of the others by this author. This series reminds me of some of your old time detective stories that you once watched on television. Even though the outcome of this novel might be predictable, it is still an excellent thriller to read because the characters will draw the reader into the story and keeps them there right to the end. This is one you will find hard to put down so plan on reading this one when you have some time to sit down and relax. The relationship between Eve and her husband, Roarke, is one that helps to make this series a success. If you have read any of the books in this series, you will not be disappointed with this one. Be sure to add “Strangers in Death” to your reading list.
