Circle of Assassins has to be one of the most creative, interesting and different books I have read in a long time. Steven Rigolosi has a winning page-turner in this book.
Circle of Assassins is the story of a group of five people. "A" is the leader, who begins the group by placing a newspaper ad asking people to write if they would like revenge on someone who has wronged them or someone else and would like to do something about it. Four other assassins are chosen from the responses "A" receives and in turn they are each assigned a letter of the alphabet, B, C, D, & E.
Each victim is assigned a color, all correspondence is sent through "A". He is to randomly assign a victim to each assassin. He then sends the assassins their assigned target along with a profile he has received from another assassin that includes photos, addresses, phone, activities and the best times to attempt their kill. He also gives the a few hints on the best ways to kill their victims and how not to leave evidence.
In the beginning, the book was somewhat confusing figuring out the assassins, etc. but the characters were wonderful. One learned all about each assassin and their intended victims with some surprising information. The ending held several twists. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to more Steven Rigolosi books in the future.
