In l967 Paul Hoyle resigned from the CIA. He was not without a job very long. Hoyle is taken back into the CIA as an independent contractor - this is the type of person the United States sends secretly to troubled places around the world.
Bolivia is just the right place for a communist takeover. When a Bolivian Army is ambushed, it does not take long for the agency to send Hoyle to the area for fear that trouble is starting to brew.
As Hoyle starts to get deeper and deeper into this mission, he starts to have second thoughts about what he is doing over there.
It is believed that Che has been killed in the Congo or executed by Fidel Castro but more and more evidence is showing that Che may be in charge of this new insurgency. Hoyle tries to remain skeptical until he discovers that both Moscow and Castro want Guervara dead.
Is Hoyle's mission successful?
Hold on! That's what you will have to do when you start reading this book. It has plenty of action and moves at a rapid pace. Chuck Pfarrer is a counterterrorism consultant to the U.S. and foreign governments. The reader will see that his expertise has been incorporated into the heart of this story. The author does an excellent job of setting the stage for what takes place in the novel. If you are looking for a book that is exhilarating, has a great plot and well-drawn characters, this is the one for you. This book is highly recommended
