When Liberty Lane arrives in Paris, she soon discovers that her father has been killed in a dual. Liberty has many doubts about his death because she believes that he would not get involved in a dual. She really gets suspicious when some people try to kidnap her.

Liberty goes back to England. She knows she must find out the truth about what really happened to her father. Liberty soon discovers that she is on a dangerous mission and nothing is what it really appears to be. She is then contacted by secret agents who want her to go undercover as a governess in order to infiltrate Mandeville Hall. The agents believe her father’s death and a plot to kill the newly crowned queen are connected to Sir Herbert Manderville.

Will Liberty be successful at finding out what really happened to her father?

The adventure of a young girl trying to find the truth of what happened to her father will entice the reader right from the very beginning. You will feel yourself wanting to help Liberty find out the truth. The author has done an excellent job of setting the atmosphere for this thriller. The reader will learn to appreciate what Liberty is trying to do as they go along for the roller coaster ride. Liberty is a character that will have the readers cheering for her all the way! Be sure to add “A Foreign Affair” to your reading list. You will find it a very entertaining read.
