BOOK REVIEW: BONE THIEF
This story is about a madman who terrorizes New York City. After he murders his victims, he then takes surgical instruments and cuts away the flesh in order to steal the bones. To this madman, this is his trophy.
Several murders begin to occur in the city. The mutilated bodies are all the same - there bones are gone. The women didn't know each other. One was a housewife snatched in broad daylight, another was a tattooed drifter found under the boardwalk and another was a high society heiress left in the city dump.
The killer always managed to leave some type of identification on the body so the police would not have any trouble trying to find out the name of the victim. He would look through the victim's purse and find something like a driver's license and attach it to the body.
Police Lt. John Driscoll has problems of his own. Six years ago his young daughter and wife were in an accident. The daughter died and his wife was left in a near "lifeless" state. When he is called in to work on this case, he knows the challenges are tremendous.
Who is this serial killer? Is Lt. Driscoll able to solve this case?
Eerie, scary, and chilling! It's difficult to find one word to describe this book. This novel is a real thriller - you don't have to look very far to find that out - it all starts on page one. If you are going to read this one, don't read it late at night when you are alone. Also, be prepared for the gory details. The author does an excellent job of building the suspense from the very beginning. This is Thomas O'Callaghan's first novel -You will find that hard to believe! We look forward to more books by this author. This book is highly recommended.
