Is it possible for a penny to change your life? Just ask Jenny Blake. With the help of God and a penny, Jenny's life turned around.
Jenny picked up a penny which was embedded into the asphalt and this ended up having a domino effect. As a result, she ended up stopping a robbery, getting hired for a job and meeting someone special who would help change her life.
The person Jenny would meet was Miss Shaw. The two of them formed a relationship with a common bond - they both lived with secrets in their past that could end up having a detrimental effect on them. Miss Shaw teaches Jenny how to face her "secret" through the help of God. This all ends up having an affect on the lives of many people close to them and shows how God can help in many ways.
Will Jenny and Miss Shaw help each other face their past and be able to a live a life of freedom they they would both enjoy?
Even though this book is fiction, it closely resembles some things that have happened in the real life of author, Joyce Meyer. This is a touching story, which takes place during the days of discrimination in the South. You will want to cheer for Jenny as she finally gets brave enough to stand up and say "no more". You will also feel the emotion as her mother finally gets the courage to do the same. The characters are well drawn and each one plays and important role in this story. I really enjoyed this audio book and it is one that I highly recommend. I always enjoy books written by Joyce Meyer - this one has two great authors - Joyce Meyer and Deborah Bedford - what a double treat!
