Reese Mitchell was devastated by the loss of his wife. He only associated with one person, his brother-in-law.
One day Reese noticed a little girl with a lemonade stand. Her name was Annie and she was selling the lemonade for fifty cents a cup in order to raise enough money for a heart transplant that she needed. As Reese was walking away from Annie, a gust of wind blew her money into the street. Reese noticed a truck was heading right for Annie. The driver of the truck did not see Annie until it was too late. Reese rushed over to Annie and was able to help save her life. From this day on, Reese finds that his life has been changed.

Annie's mother died and her mother's sister, Cindy, is caring her for. However, this burden is very hard for Cindy. Her heart is damaged also. She is also in need of someone to talk to and share her problems with. Annie takes Reese to meet her Aunt Cindy.

What happens when Reese meets Cindy? Will these three people help each other mend? Will Annie get her heart transplant before it is too late?

This is a heart-warming story. The author does an excellent job of making the reader feel Annie's passion to raise enough money for her own heart transplant. It is a story that will let readers know how someone feels when they are going through a serious illness and at the same time can still manage to have hope. The author does an excellent job of blending these feelings together to end up with the strong emotion that comes through in this book. This is a great read and one that is highly recommended.
