BOOK REVIEW: THE INTRUDERS
Gary Fisher, a childhood friend, approaches Jack Whalen, a former cop who left under difficult circumstances. Gary is now a lawyer and asked for Jack’s help. Gary represented a client who is now dead. There seems to be a major problem when another law firm has provided a will that takes precedence over the one Gary holds. The client left some money to his family but left the majority of it to agencies. One person he left money to is Bill Anderson a physics professor. Bill’s wife and son are murdered. Bill has disappeared and is now the chief suspect.
Jack has other things to be concerned with. His wife told him she was on a business trip to Seattle. She has not checked into her hotel and did not return calls to her cell phone. Jack travels to Seattle to investigate.
Jack really did not want to get involved in Gary’s request for help but since Gary hinted that he had some information about Jack’s wife, he agreed to assist.
A little girl in Oregon disappears but it is soon discovered that she is not an innocent victim and has been traveling on her own.
What is going on?
Jack starts to put all of these incidents together and soon learns something very interesting. The only problem is the more he gets involved, the more evil he is starting to find.
Is Jack able to solve this mysterious case?
Michael Marshall has written a very complex and “weird” type of novel. The book is well written and will provide the reader with many thought-provoking incidents to make them wonder what is happening to all of these people. There are several things going on at the same time. You will find reading this book fascinating because it is so different. It made me feel like I was watching one of the old “Twilight Zone” movies. This novel has everything you would want in a thriller from being powerful to suspenseful. After you read this book, I think you will agree that Michael Marshall is a very talented writer. Be sure to add this one to your reading list. I highly recommend it.
