THE DEPARTED - KATHRYN MACKEL

Joshua Lazarus has been working as a magician.  However, things haven't been going the best.  All of a sudden, things take a turn for the better.  Joshua ends up with a television show where he works as a medium that passes messages to the audience from loved ones who have passed on.

Joshua's wife, Maggie, keeps her distance from his new career.  She knows her husband is very handsome and has several female admirers in the audience.  There is one problem.  Joshua's conversations with the dead are all a hoax.   In the meantime, Maggie spends more time at Safe Haven, a refuge for young Christian children.

On the one hand we now have Maggie getting a little closer to God and Joshua being pulled in another direction by forces he doesn't really understand.

Then to complicate matters somewhat more, a killer appears on the scene that is after Joshua.  Why would anyone want to kill Joshua?

This book is well written with a suspenseful plot.  The author has done an excellent job in creating the characters that are very realistic.   The story goes in many different directions and will keep the reader engrossed.  This is one you don't want to miss.  Be sure to add this one to your reading list.
