BOOK REVIEW: BLUE SMOKE AND MURDER
BY ELIZABETH LOWELL

We hope you enjoy this book review by Carmelita Peters.

Jill meets Zach in her quest to discover the mystery surrounding her grandmother's death and the mysterious unsigned paintings which are her legacy. During the quest, she encounters powerful enemies who want the paintings for illegal purposes. She also uncovers information about her mother and grandmother which cause her to become a target, as well as the paintings. Action and suspense abound as the plot unwinds in short, dramatic bursts.

This is the first Elizabeth Lowell I have read. It is a formulaic murder mystery with good-looking, well-toned characters, the requisite "bad guy," the tough cookie who falls for the beautiful girl, lots of sex, guns, and car chases. However, it is a good read. There is much information about the art world in the plot. Once you begin the book, you want to finish it...quickly..and I did!
