BOOK REVIEW:
IS IT ME OR IS EVERYTHING SHIT?
BY STEVE LOWE AND ALAN MCARTHUR
WITH BRENDAN HAY

We hope you enjoy this book review by Nancy Eaton.

This book is described as “an encyclopedic attack on modern culture, this is the standard reference for everyone who believes that everything is shit.”

The authors do come up with some very interesting points. Here are a few of my favorites: Baby Name Books – They state that nobody has really found a good name in a baby name book. Why? Because the names listed there are ones like Hadrian, Dylis, etc. Books on CD (Except for Blind People). The authors state, “we may not know much, but we do know this. Books are for reading.” E-Mail Bragging where people complain about how many messages they have waiting upon their return from vacation. Another is titled Fast-Food Chains Marketing Themselves as “Healthy” (and Feminist). You can just imagine what this one is all about. Food Courts are described as a “horrible accident at an MSG factory.”

These are just a few of the titles. I don’t want to spoil it for others by giving too much away but I think you get the idea as to how the rest of this book goes.

The book has titles listed in a dictionary format from A-Z and includes many famous people like George Bush, Dick Cheney and Tom Cruise just to name a few. The attacks contain much sarcasm; however, it is done in a very funny way. By the time you get through this book, you might wonder how in the world did we put up with all of this for such a long time.

If you are looking for something different to read and one that will make you laugh out loud many times, be sure to pick up a copy of Is It Just Me or is Everything Shit?
