BOOK REVIEW: SOUTH OF SHILOH
BY CHUCK LOGAN

We hope you enjoy this book review by Jackie Young.

As a fan of Chuck Logan I was at first a bit lost and disappointed because I missed the central character in his previous novels, Phil Broker, but I quickly became involved in this story and even though I've never been a great fan of the Civil War era, I was pulled in by the story.

As Civil War re-enactors gather in Mississippi carrying authentic weapons and dressed in Civil War uniforms, to re-stage the Battle of Kirby Creek, an obsessed man is shot, an accidental death that starts an investigation, -- and family turmoil that goes back generations.

From an investigation to unravel a complex web of family feuds, and catch a killer, to a lesson in finding water moccasins in this swampy land in northern Mississippi, this book is going to get the readers attention from the start and hold it till the end.

For history buffs, mystery lovers, Chuck Logan fans, (even how to shoot a rifle), I highly recommend this book. The information and entertainment are well worth the cost and I hope this is not the last we read of the hero-John Rane.
