BOOK REVIEW: DEAD BOYS |
This book consists of a series of short stories mostly about males who live in Los Angeles who have all kinds of problems. Some are trying to make redemption for things that have gone wrong; others are just trying to make a living. The problems the individuals face in these stories are ones that happen to people quite often.
I don’t want to go into detail about the stories because it might spoil something for anyone who reads this book. I will tell you that one of my favorites in this book is called “The Hero Shot”. Why? It is about family.
I have read many books but I have not come across anything so unique as “Dead Boys”. As I read this book, the author made me feel like he was telling each story directly to me. His characters, their individual personalities and the problems they faced captured me. It does not take long to realize that Richard Lange is a wonderful storyteller and he writes about each one in a very realistic, matter-of-fact way. The stories will remain with the reader for a long time and give them something to really think about. This book is highly recommended.
