BOOK REVIEW: REMEMBER ME? |
Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella is about a British woman named Lexi Smart. When this story begins, Lexi wakes up at the hospital as a result of an accident. However, she doesn't remember which accident it was. You see, earlier in her life before her father's funeral, Lexi remembers coming out of a bar angry at the world, her boyfriend, and her horrible position at work. When Lexi walks out of the bar and tries to catch a taxi, she falls and hits her head. This is where the adventure begins.
Apparently, Lexi was in a car accident and was hospitalized, which is how she wakes up. In her hospital room, she discovers that instead of her crooked teeth, she has nice, straight, white teeth. Instead of her mousy hair, she has straight chestnut colored hair. However, the biggest surprise is yet to come. You see, something happened between the time Lexi hit her head outside the bar and her car accident. But she can't remember what it was. Lexi has amnesia and she can't remember three years of her life. We learn that in that short space of time, Lexi had an extreme make-over, but herself on a reality show similar to The Apprentice, met and married her husband soon after, and became a corporate big-shot after her superiors saw her on the show. Did I mention she married a multi-millionaire and is having an affair with her husband's most trusted friend?
While reading this book, we take a look at how Lexi will deal with the stress of trying to regain the life that she had before the accident and her search for the truth. Remember Me? was funny and an excellent book because it's about finding the truth and how much a person can change just from one little mishap.
