BOOK REVIEW: CAPABLE OF MURDER |
A surprise letter from Great-Aunt Jane sends Belinda Lawrence on a trip to Milford. Aunt Jane requests a visit from Belinda with a note that states she has something that will be of interest.
Belinda makes the trip but is shocked when she arrives in Milford she gets no answer at her Aunt’s cottage. Once inside Belinda makes a gruesome discovery. Her Aunt Jane is dead and evidently has been for a while.
Shock after shock will follow. When Aunt Jane’s attorney contacts Belinda, she finds that she has inherited her aunt’s cottage. Belinda cannot shake her theory that Aunt Jane’s death was not an accident.
As Belinda begins to meet the residents of Milford she finds several of them very strange but she is determined she will make Aunt Jane’s cottage her home. Her first task is to clean up the cottage and have the garden redone.
Her neighbor Jacob wants very much to redo the garden. Mark Sallinger a local real estate agent shows an interest in Belinda. Belinda wonders if he has more interest in her cottage and land. Hazel Whitby is another character that Belinda meets. Hazel is an antique dealer. Hazel deals in antiques, gin and men not necessarily in that order.
Capable of Murder is a good mystery with a number of lively characters.
