cover

The author has written a narrative about her experiences in Greece while living at the home of her paternal grandparents. She tells of the many experiences she endured while dealing with the culture and problems with the language.

The author tells the story of how ill her grandfather was at the time and then one day he passed away. She explained how difficult it was for her grandmother as she went through her grief.

It is interesting to see the comparisons of what is expected of a Greek woman on the one hand and what the author believed it really should be on the other. This book will make you laugh several times and it will also make you do some thinking.

The reader will follow the author as she experiences many of life's important decisions like applying for a teaching job at a Greek university and buying an island house.

The author writes with such vivid descriptions that the reader will feel like they are right there in the house as the story is being told.

Reading this book is like taking a wonderful journey through Greece with Adrianne Kalfopoulou as your personal tour guide. The reader will experience humor, many emotions and experience the old traditions of Greece. This is one you should add to your reading list. You will not be sorry.
