Firestorm was a bit hard to for me to get into. It takes the super-natural into play, which I do not always relish. After getting into the book it was a fair story if one stretches their imagination. Several characters in the book, fire investigator Kerry Murphy, Brad Silver, and Trask, the Firestorm villain, play with each others minds as they go through one disastrous killing fire after another. Kerry’s supposed arson-sniffing dog, Sam, doesn’t help much since he would rather play that search ruins for evidence.

Kerry and Silver also connect in a sexual way as their minds intertwine with Trask’s mind and actions. They race against time trying to stop Trask from killing and incinerating others, including friends of theirs. If you like the super-natural mind playing that goes on in this book, you will love it. I have read several of Iris Johansen’s books and enjoy them much, but this one did not turn me on.
