Rudy Harrington is ready for a new life. His wife, Helen, had been dead for seven years. He met Helen after a basketball game where he played on a semi-pro team. Helen's uncle, who was one of the referees, introduced them.
Rudy and Helen had three children who were now grown up. Meg, their oldest, had a law degree and two kids and was planning to go back to work full time; Molly, their middle daughter, taught social dancing in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Margot, the youngest, had just left for Italy.
Rudy began to wonder. Where had his life gone? What would happen to him now? He went down to the basement, pulled out an old board and began to paint. In big black letters the sign read "FOR SALE" by owner.
Rudy was now off to start his new life. Rudy took something with him. It was a book one of his daughters gave him called "Philosophy Made Simple" which contained ideas of many famous philosophers. He soon finds out that he needs all the help he can get as he is faced with many different challenges.
What happens to Rudy in his new life?
This book is such a fun read. It is so real because I'm sure many parents feel the same way when their children leave home and they start to wonder "What Happened to My Life"? The author really makes the reader feel Rudy's wonderment of this question. This book is loaded with insights, humor, great characters and a real compassion for life. This is one you will want to add to your reading list!
