An American priest is shot at the plaza of San Pedro Casivatre. He
only
volunteered to do the mass because the regular priest was ill.
A few weeks later an Indian shaman called Moie arrives in Florida.
With him
are a bag of totems and the fearsome power of Jaguar, his god.
Jimmy Paz, a retired Miami detective, his wife and young daughter keep
having the same dreams – about jungle cats. Why is this happening?
After several Miami businessmen are murdered, Jimmy Paz is called out
of
retirement to help in the investigation. Paz has the reputation of
being
able to solve impossible cases. The police are baffled
because
the only evidence they have is a massive, catlike footprint that appears at
each
murder scene.
Moie is a suspect but how can he produce a catlike footprint that
indicates
a creature of several hundred pounds?
As Paz begins the investigation, he starts to realize just how close
the
danger is to home. Is Paz able to solve this case?
Michael Gruber has written a novel with non-stop action. This is also
a
great one for fans of the supernatural. The plot is totally engrossing
and
will keep the reader turning the pages to find out what happens. The
author
has shown us before that he is a very creative writer and this book
only
adds to that proven skill. This book is highly recommended.
