BOOK REVIEW: HEARTLESS
BY ALISON GAYLIN

We hope you enjoy this book review by Patricia Reid.

An investigative reporter that has turned her back on the news finds that the news has a way of finding her. Zoe Greene has turned from crime to writing for a soap opera magazine. A bad experience with a murderer made Zoe feel she needed a quieter life.

Zoe meets and falls in love with Warren Clark, a soap opera star. When Warren quits his job and asks Zoe to go to San Esteban in Central Mexico, Zoe is thrilled but Steve Sorensen is not happy about the decision. Steve is an investigative reporter and Zoe’s best friend. Steve has suspicions about Warren Clark but nothing he can prove.

When Zoe arrives in San Esteban she finds that everything is not as it should be. Warren seems to do a disappearing act quite frequently. There have been some deaths in San Esteban that are horrible and unexplained.

Zoe’s moods alternate between happiness and horror. Soon the horror overtakes the happiness.

Heartless is a book full of suspense and surprises that keeps you turning pages quickly.
