BOOK REVIEW: NEVER TELL A LIE
BY HALLIE EPHRON

We hope you enjoy this book review by Nancy Eaton.

You will never look at a garage sale the same again after reading Never Tell A Lie.

David and his pregnant wife, Ivy, decide to hold a garage sale as a means of getting rid of items left in the attic by the previous owner of their home. Melinda, who is someone from their high school past, stops by at the sale. David and Ivy did not recognize her because she looked the complete opposite of what she looked like back in high school. Melinda was not very popular back then and the way she looked now was quite an improvement. It happens that Melinda is pregnant too.

Melinda informed David and Ivy that, as a child, she played in the house they now own. After a few hints, David offered to take Melinda inside for a tour. He left her alone for a short time and when he did not see her, David assumed Melinda had left. Did she?

David and Ivy receive a visit from the police who inform them that Melinda is missing. The police have discovered some evidence and it makes David and Ivy look very guilty.

What is going on? Is someone trying to frame David?

Even though you will figure out what is happening in this story quite early, it is still a fast and enjoyable read that will keep you glued to the pages. David and Ivy are characters who are very believable, the plot is intriguing and the story has an interesting conclusion. The author has added many twists to the story. That should be enough to make any mystery fan want to to read Never Tell a Lie.
