BOOK REVIEW: SWEET REVENGE
Goldy Schultz has been hired for a catering job. Is it possible that this is a normal catering job? No way! Not with Goldy Schultz. We just know she will get involved in a “recipe” for murder one way or another.
Goldy Schultz has a catering business that is doing quite well. She is delighted that she has been chosen to cater an event at the Aspen Meadow Library. Goldy wanted to meet with Hermie to finalize the menus for a dinner for eight to be held on Saturday and a luncheon on Monday.
While setting up the library, Goldy spotted a woman who looked just like Sandee Brisbane. Goldy could not forget Sandee’s face. After all, Sandee killed Goldy’s ex-husband, known as “The Jerk”. There is one problem – Sandee is supposed to be dead. It could not be her. Could Sandee have survived? It was not possible. She disappeared over a ledge into a raging forest fire that destroyed ten thousand acres of the Aspen Meadow Wildlife Preserve.
The Body of Drew Wellington, a former D.A. and map dealer, is found in the library. A map worth thousands of dollars is concealed in his clothing. Who killed Mr. Wellington?
Goldy thinks she knows the answer and believes it is Sandee Brisbane. Goldy’s suspicions are confirmed when Sandee is spotted near the body of another map dealer. Goldy knows she must find the killer before someone else is murdered.
Things get very dangerous and interesting when Goldy gets involved into the double-crossing world of high-end map dealing and Sandee keeps making appearances.
Is Goldy able to solve this case before it is too late? Is Sandee still alive?
When we read a mystery written by Diane Mott Davidson, the reader knows they are in for a “treat” (no pun intended). Her books always include fun characters and a plot that will keep you guessing. As with other novels written by Diane Mott Davidson, there are also some scrumptious recipes listed at the end of the book. Diane is a master at writing the cozy mystery and this book is just another addition to her impressive list. If you are looking for a book that is entertaining, suspenseful and fun, be sure to add “Sweet Revenge” to your list. I highly recommend it.
