Ophelia Jensen works as a librarian. She could feel
someone looking at her and assumed it was Mr. Carroll who considered
the library his personal domain and along with it Ophelia as his
personal slave. Much to her surprise it was not Mr. Jensen -
it was a man named Richard Davis.
Mr. Davis was very
handsome and Ophelia was quite taken with him. However, he did
seem to ask a lot of questions. Mr. Davis stated that he was a
chemical salesman and was in town for a couple of weeks. For
some reason, Ophelia did not believe his story. Richard had a
request to review some of the old newspapers to get a feel as to
what was happening in the community. Ophelia did manage to set
this up for him.
Ophelia was quite different - she had
some psychic powers. One of the things she did quite
frequently was to pick up the phone before it rang. This time
it was her grandmother, Abby. Abby was unique also - she was a
practicing witch.
Abby told Ophelia that the man she
met today represents danger. Abby just might be right!
Along with the arrival of Richard Davis, some strange happenings
start to occur. There is a theft of bomb-making materials and
a murdered corpse is dumped in Abby's backyard.
Is Mr.
Davis responsible for all these strange occurrences?
Ophelia and Abby start to investigate. Are
they successful at solving the case?
This book is an
entertaining read. The author does an excellent job of
capturing the reader's attention. It makes you want to
continue on to the next page to find out what is going to
happen. You will enjoy the characters of Ophelia and
Abby. They do a great job of adding charm and humor to the
story. You should add this book to your reading list. It
is one that you will thoroughly enjoy!
