Genevieve Bayard returns to Alpine, a small Washington town,
to have a reunion with the members of the Burl Creek Thimble
Club. The ladies were all enjoying themselves until something
terrible happened. Genevieve died at the dinner party.
It seems there was poison in something she ate. Who would want
to murder Genevieve? Well, everyone in the community didn't
exactly love her but to go to this extreme is
unbelievable.
Emma Lord, owner and publisher of the local
newspaper, The Alpine Advocate, arrives at the crime scene and
begins to investigate what happened. Emma discovers some
interesting things along the way.
Emma tried to get Vida
Runkel, the Advocate's House & Home editor, to help her.
However, for some reason, Vida was hesitant to get involved.
In addition, a string of burglaries was taking place in the
town. Emma's house was among the houses hit.
Is Emma
able to solve this case?
