Renie
Jones is a graphics designer. She is quite upset when she
loses her largest client, Cruz Cruises. She felt like she was
fired. Judith, Renie's cousin, tried to make her feel better
by stating that she wasn't exactly fired. The corporate
offices were being relocated to San Francisco. Renie stated
that she was going to call her husband's brother and have him "sue
the pants" off Cruz Cruises.
In the meantime, the cruise
line's owner settled with Renie and offered her a free trip on the
inaugural cruise of the San Rafael, his premier liner. Renie's
husband is a psychiatrist and he is tied up with a patient who is
threatening suicide. Since he could not go on the cruise,
Renie decided to ask Judith to go along.
The two are
looking forward to enjoying some time off and relaxation. It
just didn't go their way! Cruz is found stabbed to death and
the pre-launch party and that is about as far as they get on their
cruise.
Along the streets of San Francisco,
Judith and Renie team up with fellow passengers Rick and Rhoda St.
George. The group decides to play sleuths and solve the
crime. More murders began to take place.
Is this
foursome successful at solving the murder?
Mary Daheim
has created a very likeable mystery that is even humorous at
times. You will enjoy the escapades of the amateur sleuths as
they embark along the streets of San Francisco looking to solve the
murder. This is one you will enjoy reading on the beach or
just relaxing in the backyard. Mary Daheim has, once again,
created a delightful read.
