BOOK REVIEW: |
Sadie, the 1957 Chevy owned by Jack Bloodworth, is Matador Red and a real classy lady. Jack and Kitty Bloodworth are in Paducah, Kentucky along with other members of the Metropolis Super Cruisers. Kitty and Jack live in Metropolis, Illinois and are in Paducah to compete in a classic car show.
The last thing Jack an Kitty expected to find when they opened Sadie’s trunk was Kitty’s cousin Will Ann Lloyd, strangled and stuffed in the trunk. So begins a mystery that has dire consequences for all concerned.
Will Ann was mad at the Bloodworth’s daughter Sunny or so she indicated when she approached Kitty as the couple was having dinner the previous night. Kitty finds the name of a private investigator Will Ann had contacted but when she attempts to talk to the investigator Kitty is in an accident that leaves her fighting for her life. Once she is on the road to recovery Kitty once again tries to figure out what happened. Since Will Ann was not the most agreeable person during her lifetime, there are a large number of suspects.
This is a great story and the book has a marvelous cover that makes one yearn for times when life at least seemed a bit simpler.
