               THE LINCOLN LAWYER
                 MICHAEL CONNELLY

Fernando Valenzuela is a bail bondsman who works from a storefront office called Liberty Bail Bonds.

Mickey Haller is a lawyer better known as "The Lincoln Lawyer" because he operates out of the back seat of his Lincoln Town car.  His clients have included people like bikers, con artists, drunk drivers and drug dealers.

Haller received a call from Valenzuela one day who asked if he was "coming in" for a 9:00 calendar call.  He told Haller that he had "something" and asked if he could make it back in time.  Mickey agreed to be there.

A Beverly Hills rich boy, Ross Roulet, was arrested for brutally beating a woman.  He chose Mickey Haller to represent him.  This was a big break for Mickey.  It was the first high paying client he had in years.  Ross claims he is innocent.  Could this be the first client Haller is defending who is actually innocent?  Haller assumed his case would be a "slam dunk".

Well, it didn't turn out to be that easy.  One of the investigators is murdered for getting a little too close to the truth.  Mickey now realizes he has to use all of his expertise to solve this case.

Is Mickey successful?

This novel will hold you spellbound.  It is narrated in the first person and this does the job of making it captivating.  The author has done an excellent job of making the characters appear very real.  It's hard to let go once you start reading this book.  When we read a novel written by Michael Connelly, the readers have come to expect "the best".  This book will not let you down.  Michael Connelly just seems to surpass the quality of the last book with each new one he writes!  This book is highly recommended.
