BOOK REVIEW: CRIME BEAT
Did you ever wonder why Michael Connelly is such a master at writing the mystery novel? You will see why after reading this book.
For a decade, Michael worked as a crime reporter covering the detectives who worked in homicide in Florida and Los Angeles.
This book consists of true stories. It is broken down into three sections: The Cops, The Killers and The Detectives. Each section contains stories pertaining to these categories and Michael takes us where we normally do not get to go - behind the scenes where the real action is taking place. We also learn many things such as the problems many of the detectives faced and how the families of the victims had to deal with their grief.
If you are a Michael Connelly fan, this is a must read book. These are true stories but you will almost feel like you are reading a fiction mystery book. It's not very often the reader gets to go along for an exciting ride with the homicide detectives. Michael shows us once again that he can write any kind of book and make it thrilling for the reader. Be sure to add this one to your reading list!
