This
book is a collection of short stories, which you might want to
classify as weird, strange tales. There are several
contributors - among them are Stephen King, Peter Straub, Jason
Roberts, Margaret Atwood and Steve Erikson.
My
favorites are "Lusus Naturae" by Margaret Atwood. This is the
story of a human with a mysterious disease that results in yellow
eyes and red fingernails. Another great one is "Lisey and the
Madman by Stephen King. This one is written in the Stephen
King creativity that is his trademark. A really strange
one is "Minnow". After reading this one, you will think about
it every time you look at a baby monitor.
All in all,
this is an interesting collection of strange tales. Each
reader will have a favorite. If you are a fan of the weird
story, this is the book for you. These tales will make you sit
back and think - that's for sure. We look forward to another
collection of strange tales edited by Michael
Chabon.
