BOOK REVIEW: LOST DOG
BY BILL CAMERON

We hope you enjoy this book review by Patricia Reid.

A disappearing stuffed dog named Patch sends Peter McKrall out on a cold winter morning. Peterís niece Julie was insistent she had to have Patch. Peter agreed to go to the park and search for Patch in the hopes of bringing peace to the household. What Peter found wasnít Patch but the body of a woman who had been murdered. This discovery would change Peterís life forever.

Davidís sister Abby and her husband and daughter were just visiting Peter. Abby worried about Peter who was out of work and struggling with a personal problem. The last thing Peter needed in his life was another problem to struggle with but the discovery of a murdered woman brings more problems to Peterís life but there is the plus side as well.

When Peter talks to the press the murderer immediately decides that Peter is out to ruin his life and proceeds to do everything in his power to make it appear that Peter is the one that actually committed the crime. A phone call from a girl named Darla who begs Peter to meet her leads him to a coffee house owned by Ruby Jane Whittaker. Ruby Jane and Peter hit it off and although Peterís life is currently a shambles Ruby Jane is the one bright spot.

Detective Mulvaney and her partner Skin Kadash head up the investigation that escalates as the murderer tries to point the two towards Peter as the guilty party. The killer becomes more and more frantic and his anger escalates and the reader is placed inside the twisted mind of the killer.

Bill Cameron sets his books in Portland, Oregon. If you love the characters of Ruby Jane and Skin Kadesh as much as I did you will want to pick up Chasing Smoke and read more about the two.
