BOOK REVIEW: ANGEL'S TIP
BY ALAFAIR BURKE

We hope you enjoy this book review by Nancy Eaton.

Chelsea Hart and her friends are on spring break. There are a few more hours left and Chelsea wants to enjoy herself to the very last minute. That is why she decided to stay at the VIP room of an elite New York City club when her girlfriends decided it was time to go home. It was late and they knew it meant only a few short hours of sleep before their trip departed.

Chlesea had other ideas. She said it was so late why bother going to sleep at all. She told her friends to go on without her. They tried their best to talk Chelsea out of staying but there was no changing her mind. She was having too much fun dancing.

Chelsea did not return to the hotel. Her mutulated body was found by some joggers in East River Park. NYPD Detective Ellie Hatcher and her brother were also jogging when they came across the joggers who found the body. Several things were done to the body including hacking off her hair. Who would do this kind of brutality?

Ellie knows that Chelsea’s murder is very similar to three other deaths that occurred a decade ago. In all these cases, the killer has taken the victim’s hair as a souvenir.

The investigation takes Detective Hatcher to some interesting and dangerous places.

Is the same person responsible for this killing also? Willl Detective Hatcher solve the case?

I was hooked on this book after reading the first couple of pages. Alafair Burke does an excellent job of writing this thriller. I have read several of Alafair’s books and this one is the best yet. This is a definite page turner with plenty of suspense. Just when you think you know the answer – watch out - you will probably be wrong. Alafair Burke does an excellent job of setting up each scene for the reader and leaves little to one’s imagination. This book is highly recommended.
