BOOK REVIEW: SUPREME COURTSHIP
BY CHRISTOPHER BUCKLEY

We hope you enjoy this book review by Nancy Eaton.

We all know it is not easy for a President to get their Supreme Court nominee approved. President Donald Vanderdamp is having this problem. You will be surprised at the decision the President made in order to get one of his nominees approved.

President Vanderdamp is unpopular to say the least. Senator Dexter Mitchell is in charge of the Senate Judiciary Committee. He is blocking the Presidentís nominees from reaching the Senate for a full vote. Why is Senator Mitchell doing this? He wants the job. The President is really mad when his second nominee ends up the same as the first.

The President figured out a way to make the Senate approve of one of his nominees. He chose Judge Pepper Cartwright to be the next nominee. Judge Cartwright is the star of a very popular television reality show. President Vanderdamp knew there was no way the Senate would turn down his latest choice. This would make the public furious.

Pepper Cartwright soon discovers that there is quite a difference between being on the Supreme Court and starring on a reality show. However, she is what she is and does not hold back!

Christopher Buckley is one of the best at writing satire. The first thing you will notice is the clever way he came up with names for his characters. Readers will find themselves laughing out loud many times throughout this book. You will enjoy being taken through the crazy ride of the nomination process. If you are looking for a book that is light and entertaining, be sure to add Supreme Courtship to your reading list.
