Slim and Howdy met at a used car lot where they were trying to get rid of their old vehicles. Slim nor Howdy had the money to buy the kind of vehicle they wanted so a decision was made to buy one vehicle and the two would share it. This was a big turning point in their lives because the truck they bought was not the only thing they ended up sharing.

Howdy didn’t know what was happening but Slim had something he had to take care of first. He had a guitar stolen and was determined to get it back. This is where the problems start. A shot is fired, the cops are called and Slim and Howdy end up going home with two girls they happened to see before they entered the house to get the guitar. It turns out the two girls wanted their help as part of a robbery!

This is only the beginning of their problems as several escapades take them into more trouble along the way.

What happens to Slim and Howdy?

Slim and Howdy is fiction but if you have seen Brooks and Dunn perform you can just picture these two guys portraying the characters they created in this book. There are many funny one liners throughout the story that will give you many laughs along the way. The reader will come across many zany characters that make this novel an interesting and fun read. As an extra bonus this book includes a CD by Brooks and Dunn called “Gotta Get Me One of Those”. As a country music fan, one of the things I did not expect is a novel by Brooks and Dunn. What a pleasant surprise! Indulge yourself and take a wild ride with Slim and Howdy!
