BOOK REVIEW: |
For Larence Block's superspy character, Tanner, life is always a jungle! This always sleepless character finds himself this time in Africa. He is fast on the trail of the missing ruler of the wee nation of Madonoland. It seems the man has gone missing with the state treasury. Tanner has been in trouble before but not like this. Tanner's theme song is "Mission Impossible" and he's in eternal peril.
It seems that Tanner is very much in danger of being buried alive and the evil people are the CIA, white supremacists, and moderate revolutionaries. Tanner is also been tantalized by Sheena, a blonde bombshell of the jungle. Tanner's always been one for a pretty face but he's in over his head with Sheena.
If you have been a long term Block fan, or a new reader to this genre, you will enjoy this vintage Lawrence Block. Who says that everything that's old, can't be new again!
