BOOK REVIEW: TAKEOVER
BY LISA BLACK

We hope you enjoy this book review by Nancy Eaton.

Theresa MacLean, who is a forensic scientist, has been assigned to investigate the murder of Mark Ludlow, an employee with the Federal Bank. Her fiancÚ, Detective Paul Cleary goes to the bank as part of this case. It seems that out of nowhere armed men take him and the entire bank hostage. Chris Cavanaugh is one of the best hostage negotiators and has this reputation because he has never lost a hostage yet. However, even though these robbers are acting like your typical ones, they do just the opposite of one might expect. Others involved, seem to want to use this situation for their own agenda.

The situation starts to deteriorate. Theresa is not sure she can trust Paul. What does she do?

Takeover is a very well written novel and if you are a fan of forensics you will really enjoy this book. This is a novel that will keep you turning the pages and guessing as to the outcome. The chapters are short and this is something I really like because you can read them in between doing other things during the day. We all know how we hate to put down a book when we are in the middle of an exciting chapter. The author does a excellent job describing the scenes and makes them seem real for the reader. There is plenty of suspense to keep the reader on pins and needles.
