At the age of twenty-three, Bobby Cameron had a reputation of being one of the most skilled horse breakers and trainers in the world. His mother, Diana, conceived him during a one-night stand with Hank Cameron who is an expert in cattle and horses. Even though he acknowledged Bobby as his child, he really didn't want any part of having children. Hank had a three thousand acre ranch and did name Bobby as his heir.

After the death of Hank, Bobby had plenty of land but no money to maintain it. He traveled around the world breaking horses for wealthy people.

Bobby took a job in England where he trained horses. There is one problem - Bobby was very attracted to the owner's 17-year-old daughter, Millie. She loved horses but her career came to an end when she received a neck injury and her family put a stop to her riding. She also had to sit back and watch her neighbor, Rachel, go on with her successful riding career.

Things take a different turn when Rachel's father becomes ill and she is allowed to ride again. Bobby invites Millie to California to his ranch where he plans to open a racing stable.

What happens to the relationship between Bobby and Millie?

This is an intriguing read and a great coming of age story of a young woman. The main character, Bobby, who certainly has many flaws, is still very likeable. The author does an excellent job of showing the reader how important it is for Millie to get back into her rivalry with Rachel. This story has several things to make it a great read - romance, great characters and the risks one must take to follow their dreams. Be sure to add this one to your reading list.
