Looking for an escape from the everyday life. Pick up
this book and travel the streets of Amsterdam with Inspector DeKok
of the Amsterdam Municipal Police (Homicide) and his partner
Vledder. You will stroll through the quarter and see DeKok
lift his hat for Aunt Mary; a semi retired madam of a small
brothel. Have a drink with Little Lowee, a little bartender
with an intimate knowledge of the underworld. When you ride it
will be in an old VW Beatle but you won't hear the blare of the
police radio because DeKok does not allow a radio in his
vehicle.
You will meet Igor Stabinsky, a vicious man, who is
known to have killed senior citizens with a blow to the back of the
head. You will be called to the home of Isolde Bildijk
who states she has received threatening letters. Isolde has
decided to protect herself by having a flock of geese in her
yard. You will search for German Inge who is a prostitute and
known to be the lover of Igor Stabinsky.
Isolde's geese are
poisoned and she summons her family to her side and Inspector DeKok
is pressed hard by his superiors to make an arrest for the killing
of the geese. While the geese lay dead in the yard and DeKok
ponders his next step he is soon called back because of the murder
of Isolde's servant and more murders follow.
For a real
Amsterdam adventure don't miss this book.
