BOOK REVIEW: |
Missy Parker can hold her own when it comes to keeping up with some of the boys. One day Missy, her brother Bobby and best friend Junior were playing ball on the road by Cat Lake Bridge. A car stopped and a man and three boys got out. Missy was pushed by one of the boys and knocked down. Junior hit the boy and made his nose bleed. Luckily, Bobby decided to hold on to the baseball bat. The group fearing the baseball bat decide to leave but vow to return.
There is also something evil at Cat Lake. What is it? There were some witnesses standing on the bridge. One stated, “It has begun”. What started out quite innocently at Cat Lake Bridge really turned into something major as the story continues. Abiding Darkness includes angels and demons who play a major role in the plot and the book continues with Missy’s life as she grows into adulthood.
What happens to Missy?
It does not take long to get hooked on this book. John Aubrey Anderson is a wonderful storyteller. The author does an excellent job with the characters making them appear real throughout the book. This is a story that will stay with the reader for a long time because it brings back so many memories of a southern town filled with white and black families and the problems that existed at the time.
