BOOK REVIEW: SOMEWHERE IN HEAVEN |
|
|
Somewhere in Heaven really is a love story about these two people. The book takes us through the good times, as well as the bad.
The story starts at the beginning – how Chris and Dana met. The reader will find out many things that they did not know about this couple.
There are detailed chapters about Chris after his tragic accident. He really did not want to go on and be a burden to anyone. His own mother even agreed that this is not the way he would want to live. Dana convinced him to give it at least two years. She knew at least it would be a start and after that, Dana would convince him once again. What made Chris change his mind is when Dana told him “I will support whatever you want to do, because this is your life, and your decision. But I want you to know that I’ll be with you for the long haul, no matter what…You’re still you. And I love you.”
The reader is taken on the long journey with Chris as he undergoes rehabilitation. Then comes the tragic end for Chris due to an infected bedsore that caused many complications.
Then came Dana’s diagnosis with lung cancer. This was such a shock because Dana never smoked. She believed it came due to her singing in clubs when people were smoking. Dana’s condition got worse very fast. She summoned Peter Kiernan to the hospital to tell him she wanted him to take over as chairman of the foundation. Dana passed away at the age of 44. Her father said she was in high spirits right up to the end.
Somewhere in Heaven is a tragic story about such a young couple. On the other hand it is a beautiful story of how much two people loved each other. Christopher Andersen did a wonderful job of putting this story together and it is beautifully written. This book has several pictures of Chris and Dana along with descriptions. This is something the reader will enjoy. It just goes to show you that no matter what obstacles you have to face in life, love plays an important role. Be sure to add Somewhere in Heaven to your reading list. I highly recommend this book.
