This
is a story of a female German spy and an American Jewish
family. The German characters consist of: Erika Lehmann
(code name Lorelei). She is the English-speaking daughter of
Hitler's old comrade. Axel Ryker is the Gestapo's top
henchman. Ryker is sent to America with a mission - find and
kill their own spy, Erika Lehmann.
Once in America,
Erika is posing as a Jew and dating a Jewish scientist working on a
top-secret project. What Erika doesn't know is that Ryker is
in the same city looking for her.
The American
characters consist of: Joe Mayer, an American metallurgist
working on a top-secret project for the U.S. Navy. Mayer holds
the secret Erika Lehmann is sent to the United States to steal - a
secret that could alter the course of the war. Charlie
Pulaski is an FBI investigator who is sent to Evansville to
investigate a series of mysterious short wave radio
transmissions.
What happens when Ryker finds Erika
Lehmann? Does he kill her?
This is an excellent
historical novel. It is one that you will want to keep on
reading so be prepared to stay up late. This is absolutely one
of the best books I have read in some time. The author does an
excellent job developing the characters, the plot is intriguing, and
there is plenty of suspense. You won't be bored reading this
one. Add it to your list!
