THE SERPENT'S KISS - MARK T. SULLIVAN

San Diego detective Seamus Moynihan is beeped at his son's baseball game when he is asked to come to a crime scene.  When Detective Moynihan arrives at the scene, he soon finds out that this is one of the most gruesome murders that he has experienced in his career.  The investigation points out that the victim was bitten to death by a snake as part of a ritual.  The only clue left behind was a quotation on the mirror.

Detective Moynihan begins his investigation, which leads him to several danger spots including cults and crime lords.  Moynihan's investigation appears to be going nowhere until he learns of a similar murder that took place decades ago in rural Alabama.

Does Detective Moynihan find the murderer?

This book is a real thriller.  It will captivate you from the very first page.  The story has a solid plot and strong characters.  The chapters are short and you will want to continue on to the next one to find out what happens.  Don't be surprised if you are a little "jumpy" when you turn out your lights at night.  Mark T. Sullivan promises that this is the first in a series staring Detective Moynihan.  We sure hope he keeps that promise.
