Parker
just happens to be a career criminal. When a pharmaceutical
heist gets botched up, Parker faces some time in jail. While
he is waiting for his arraignment, Parker starts to plan an escape
with a couple of other prisoners. He also has some help from
the outside, including his longtime crime partner, Ed Mackey.
If one wants to escape from prison, Parker is the guy to have in
your corner. He is very clever. Parker focuses on
what he has to do to get the job done. Once they escape, these
guys plan another heist. Parker runs into many problems and
his plans often go awry but it doesn't stop him from constanly
trying to hold up to his reputation of being the "career
criminal".
This book is an entertaining addition to the
Parker series. It is a very short novel with extremely short
chapters. Most people can read it in one day especially with
Richard Stark's writing style. This is a fun book to read and
one that you will enjoy.
