BOOK REVIEW

                    LOUISIANA BIGSHOT

Talba Wallis has gotten her license as a private investigator.  At night she writes poetry.  She was hired to investigate a cheating husband.  While doing so, she was involved in a car accident.  Talba visited her friend, Babalu Moya, a healer.  While there, Babalu told Talba about her boyfriend.  When Talba asked questions about him, Babalu was short on answers.  A short time later, Babalu was found dead - supposedly a victim of a heroin overdose.  Babalu's boyfriend asked Talba to investigate.  Talba took the case because she did not believe this was a suicide.  In order to investigate, Talba had to visit Babalu's hometown of Clayton.  Once there, Talba got no cooperation from the people.  Was this a case of a huge cover-up?

This book is very enjoyable, suspenseful and one you do not want to put down.  You can't wait to turn the page to see what will happen next.  Julie Smith does a wonderful job with the characters.  They seem so real and come alive right before your very eyes.  This is a book you must add to your reading list!   After reading this one, you will want to read more Julie Smith books.
