Mike
Daley left the priesthood many years ago and is now a lawyer.
He doesn't go to confession very much but that doesn't stop him from
keeping in touch with his friend, Father Ramon
Aguirre.
Father Aguirre confides in Mike and tells him about
a sexual harassment suit that has been building against the San
Francisco Catholic archdiocese. Just when things couldn't get
any worse, the plaintiff's lawyer is found dead. It was
believed to be a suicide. However, after the police
investigation, the case was ruled a murder. They found
evidence and it pointed to Father Aguirre as the main
suspect.
Mike and his ex-wife, Rosie, take on the case.
Things quickly go downhill because forensics and witnesses all seem
to incriminate Father Aguirre. Mike is convinced that Father
Aguirre did not commit this murder but the evidence is stacking up
against his client.
Can Mike and Rosie save Father
Aguirre?
Sheldon's Siegel has done a tremendous job
with this novel. It is an exciting read and you will want to
finish it in one day. There are many twists and surprises in
the story. Mike and Rosie are two likeable characters who add
an extra amount of drama to the novel. Sheldon Siegel shows us
one thing in his new novel - he is a master at writing the legal
thriller! You should add this one to your reading
list.
